CHAIR

Dr. Mitzi Savage

Mitzi began her healthcare career in 1996 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. As a registered nurse, she worked across a variety of settings, including intensive care, home health, assisted living, and ambulatory care, gaining broad and comprehensive clinical experience.

She currently provides care to Veterans as a Nurse Practitioner with the Oklahoma City VA. Through her many years in healthcare, Mitzi recognized how overwhelming and complex the healthcare system can be for individuals and families, particularly when navigating long term illness and end-of-life decisions.

Motivated by this need, Mitzi operates a nonprofit organization focused on supporting individuals and families with end-of-life planning and decision-making. She assists clients in understanding long-term health conditions and making informed healthcare choices that align with their values and wishes. As an end-of-life coach and death doula,

Mitzi encourages a healthier, more compassionate, and informed approach to the end-of-life experience for both individuals and their loved ones. In addition to her nonprofit work, Mitzi is the owner of Savage Healthcare Consulting, LLC, where she serves as a legal nurse consultant.

MEMBER AT LARGE

Mayakia Anderson

Mayakia “Mayah” Anderson is an Herbal Alchemist, mindful accountability coach, and founder of Rooted Vines, a tea-centered wellness brand devoted to helping people slow down, breathe deeper, and reconnect with themselves. Through handcrafted herbal teas, sacred gatherings, and heartfelt teachings, Mayah blends wisdom, compassion, and inner alchemy to guide others toward emotional balance, spiritual grounding, and personal transformation.

Rooted Vines was born from Mayah’s own journey overcoming trauma, reclaiming her identity, and choosing life during seasons when hope felt far away. What started as a healing practice with herbs and intentional tea rituals has grown into a mission: to save lives one sip at a time and to remind people that peace, purpose, and self-restoration are possible.

Today, Mayah extends her heart-centered work by volunteering with Healing Art & Sound, a nonprofit devoted to nurturing mental wellness through expressive arts and sound therapy. She chose to serve with this organization because she deeply understands what it means to fight silently, to crave a safe place to exhale, and to need community during the hardest chapters of life. By offering her time, gifts, and presence, she hopes to help create spaces where others especially those quietly struggling can feel seen, supported, and held with love.

Whether through tea, teaching, or community healing, Mayah is committed to being a steady light for those searching for their way back to themselves.
